Hawks Initiation Program is a beginner’s hockey program for girls ages 4 and up.
The Hawks Initiation Program is an introductory
program that ensures the participant’s first experience in hockey is a fun and positive experience. The Hawks program follows the Hockey Canada Skills development Series and is instructed by Community Sport and D1 trained coaches.
The program focuses on building hockey fundamentals by developing basic skills such as skating - forwards and backwards, shooting, passing and stick handling and most importantly building the players confidence. The program runs for 10 weeks, beginning in October at Inch Park. The cost of the program is $290.00.
Why enroll your child in an Initiation Program?
Initiation program provides beginners with the exciting opportunity to build a strong foundation prior to being put directly into organized hockey. Unprepared players who enter into organized hockey are at a disadvantage compared to players who
have previously participated in an initiation program.
Why chose girls hockey?
Girl’s hockey more popular than it ever was before. Sure girls can play hockey with boys but here are some of the benefits girl’s
hockey can provide:
• Promotes inclusivity
• Fun and safe environment
• Focuses on teamwork and the value of hard work
• It’s competitive
• Improves physical health
• Builds friendships
• Teaches life skills
• Greater opportunities for post-secondary scholarships
